Board of Directors

Peggy Ireland, Director

In the early 1980s Peggy had the opportunity to meet then CAC President Sally Hall. She was impressed with Sally’s dedication to supporting consumer causes. Almost 20 years later, when she had a consumer issue of her own, the first place Peggy thought of was The Consumer’s Association of Canada. After attending her first meeting she was hooked. She joined CAC’s board the board of directors in 1999 and served a term as Vice President of CAC in 2003-2004. She rapidly became involved in food and health issues and welcomed an appointment by Health Canada to the Pest Management Advisory Council’s Pest Management Review Agency from 2002 - 2008.

Peggy works as a reporter/editor for a newspaper in rural Ontario. These days her focus is on food safety and financial literacy.
