New Brunswickers Speak Out on Auto Insurance
(May 28, 2004) A May 2004 poll conducted by the CAC in the province of New Brunswick has revealed that citizens are very unhappy with the state of their auto insurance, and are looking for some changes. 46% of respondents report being very dissatisfied with the manner in which the NB government has dealt with their auto insurance needs.

However, the government’s proposed public auto insurance plan is supported by 52% of respondents; only 39% support the no-frills plan proposed by private auto insurance companies.

An overwhelming 61% of respondents support the existing $2,500 cap on pain and suffering awards for minor injuries, while 56% are opposed to a possible no fault plan.
